Funding Student Ministries

At North Shore Community Baptist Church, we acknowledge that we are called to give generously to all of God’s work as we are able. The Outreach Ministries Fund (OMF) is earmarked for evangelism or social service needs, both local and worldwide. Grants can be made to meet a program’s critical need, provide funds for a new project, or towards facilities improvements. The Fund’s gifts towards social service needs are to be in support of community-oriented projects. The team enthusiastically supports activities that involve those from NSCBC in particular. An application can be found here.

Recently, the OMF supported two student ministries:

Young Life Capernaum Camp

Capernaum is Young Life (YL) for students with special needs. They host a summer camp experience and raise money for camp scholarships for local participants. In part to express the church’s appreciation for Young Life’s wonderful partnership on Night to Shine, OMF and a number of generous individuals at NSCBC will together fully fund two Capernaum camp scholarships. Karin Tong, International Fellowship of Evangelical Students

Karin Tong is planning an upcoming trip to Sub Saharan Africa. OMF will provide for her airfare to Ghana and Kenya where she will work to strengthen global partnerships and church collaboration between the Church in Africa and the Church in China. Many may be aware of the increasing economic role of China in Sub Saharan Africa. This trip will enable Karin to work with international student ministry leaders and business community leaders as they foster collaboration and outreach as well. She will connect with the diaspora Chinese and business communities in Accra, Ghana. She will attend the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students Emerging and Younger Leaders Consultation in Nairobi, Kenya this summer and connect with campus ministry and student leaders.

We are grateful to be able to support these two excellent opportunities to minister to students this summer. We pray that God would work in the lives of these servants and those they will serve.
