In Pastor Bobby’s sermon yesterday, he referenced Post Secret, which was founded by Frank Warren. Warren received a surprising number of postcards that people had mailed to him with their secrets written on them. Some were silly. Some were serious. Some were shocking. Warren declared: “After seeing thousands of secrets, I understand that sometimes when we believe we are keeping a secret, that secret is actually keeping us.” Lent is a season when we can present our secrets to God who knows and loves us, so that we are no longer bound by them.
Pastor Bobby also read from George Herbert’s “The Sacrifice”:
O all ye who passe by, behold and see;
Man stole the fruit, but I must climbe the tree;
The tree of life to all, but onely me:
Was ever grief like mine?
