Special Services

Throughout the year, we have special services that correspond with the worship seasons.

•    During each of our Sunday morning services during Advent, we light the candles of the Advent wreath and reflect on the hope, love, joy, and peace of Christ.
•    Every year, the NSCBC choir presents a concert in December where you will hear a variety of music, sing carols together, and celebrate the sounds of the season.
•    Our annual Christmas Eve Service is at 5pm and is a family-friendly service that includes children of all ages.

•    During the Lenten season, we focus on prayer and include special elements during many Sunday services. In the past we have had prayer stations, special choir songs, silence, and worship displays.
•    Palm Sunday is a service where our children wave palm branches and we sing Hosanna to the King, remembering Jesus’ entrance into Jerusalem.
•    On Good Friday, we worship together at 7pm in solemn recognition of the sacrifice of Christ on our behalf. We gradually dim the lights during the tenebrae service until it is dark. Our church choir often shares musical selections and church members share readings and reflections based on the Seven Last Words of Christ.
•    We joyfully celebrate the resurrection of Christ on Easter Sunday, beginning with a beachside service at West Beach. Our worship services are filled with exuberant singing and praise to our risen Lord!

Other Seasons
•    On Thanksgiving Eve at 7pm we join for a service of gratitude to God for his faithfulness throughout the year. After the service, we fellowship together and enjoy a variety of homemade pies!
•    We have special elements during many other services, including Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Baptism services, etc.
