We often hear that prayer is a two-way street and that through prayer we commune with God. Then we sometimes find ourselves offering to the Lord only requests and self-centered petitions in prayer. Tim Keller shares in this article how the Gospel changes our prayer lives. “The gospel means that we are not obeying God to get anything but to give him pleasure because we see his worth and beauty.” And this “change[s] prayer from mere petition to fellowship and the praise of his glory.”
Join us on Tuesday, August 16, at 7pm for an evening of worship and prayer. We will be meditating on God and what He has done for us in Christ and we will fellowship with the Spirit and praise the glorious name of Jesus.
