Downtown Dinner 2023

We are looking forward to another year of serving our local community of people in need by providing a once a month meal on the 4th Wednesday evening and serving it at the Living Faith UMC in downtown Beverly. We are looking for additional people to prepare a basic main dish or side dish for one of our monthly dates. Dessert, set up, serving, and cleanup, is provided by our current faithful volunteers. Contact Nanette or Jim Maden at Nanjimal@aol.com.

Sunday Evening Services

The Evening Service is an accessible worship service held on the first and third Sunday of each month either in-person or on Zoom. We seek to bring together people of all physical, cognitive, social and economic abilities to love God and love each other. When we meet in-person, the evening begins with a meal. At both in-person and Zoom services we play games, sing, pray and hear a message from God’s Word. We enjoy learning through hands-on activities, videos, pictures and discussion.

Prayer

  • World focus: Pray for our global workers serving in West Asia. Pray that they will continue to develop language skills, grow in deep relationship with the people in their contexts, and that the Lord would give them energy and joy in their work.
  • Community focus: Pray for social workers on the North Shore. Pray that they would be strengthened and encouraged in their work, and that they would know the tangible love of Christ for them and for the children they serve.
  • Congregation: Pray for Ellie Harris as she prepares to have heart surgery. Pray for the Wallace family as Richard is facing health concerns.
  • Do you have prayer concerns? Email prayer@nscbc.org, submit at nscbc.org/live, or call the church office.

Maundy Thursday

We have the opportunity to partner with churches on the North Shore to share meals in our neighborhoods on Maundy Thursday, as we celebrate the Lord’s Supper. You can sign up to host a dinner, or to attend a dinner on Anchor Bay’s website, anchorbaychurch.churchcenter.com.

Baptism @ NSCBC

If you are someone who is following Jesus, whether just recently or for a while, and have yet to be baptized, we would love to invite you to consider baptism at NSCBC! Baptism is a beautiful picture of how we are united to Christ in his death, dying to sin and its curse, and united to Christ in raising to new wonderful life - and it’s a moment that we love to celebrate together as a church family! We hope to have our next baptism service on Easter Sunday, so if you are interested in baptism or finding out more about it you can reach out to Maddie at office@nscbc.org
