What shall I return to the LORD for all his bounty to me?
I will give what I have promised in the presence of all God’s people.
Psalm 116:12, 14
Giving is part of worship. A habit of regular giving helps us connect our worship of God to our everyday life of discipleship. For as Jesus taught, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” If you have never given before, this can be a meaningful step in following Jesus with gratitude and trust.
Ways to give
As you consider making a meaningful offering to the work of NSCBC, consider which method best suits your faith formation. If giving in person is the most meaningful way for you to offer to God as an act of worship, bring gifts to the offering box on Sunday. If automated, regular giving helps you, consider setting up recurring donations through our online platform.

A great way to manage recurring giving.
However you give, remember that giving generously can be a joy. As Paul wrote to the Corinthians, “The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”
A word on processing fees
No one likes their giving short changed! Here is the info you need to make a wise gift.

Where you can give
When giving to NSCBC there are several different funds you can choose to give to. Below you will find a brief explanation of the main funds.
General Fund
Giving to the General Fund is the main way to support the mission of NSCBC. The general fund is used to support our annual budgeted ministries and funds areas like our worship, discipleship, local outreach, world missions, and much more! If giving regularly to NSCBC we encourage you to give to the general fund.
Missions Fund
The Missions Fund is used to supply resources to NSCBC World Partners, short term missions projects, individuals on mission locally and globally, and organizations sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the world. Gifts from the Missions Fund tend to be for one-off projects and initiatives, while long term support for missions locally and globally happens through our general fund.
Gospel Initiatives
The purpose of the Gospel Initiatives Fund is to help the church grow in all aspects of its local and global gospel outreach. The use of these funds is to focus on developing outreach initiatives in preference over sustaining ongoing outreach ministries which is instead funded through the General Fund. Projects like church planting on the North Shore, new neighborhood outreach ideas from congregation members, or new missions initiatives from world partners are all funded through the Gospel Initiatives Fund.
Other Funds
Throughout the year we have opportunities to give in other ways to other special collections. If ever you would like more details about the purpose of any church fund or collection you can contact the church office to find out more.
Other Giving Options
Auto Bill-Pay
Bill pay through a bank or financial institution (contact your bank to set this up)
Gifts of Stock and Mutual Funds
Gifts of Stock and Mutual Funds would allow NSCBC to receive the full market value of your gift, and usually you would receive a tax savings. Donated securities must be owned over 1 year.
IRA and Retirement Funds
IRA or Retirement Fund can only be accepted if donor is over 70 ½ years of age.
Legacy Giving
Legacy giving, also known as planned giving, is a way to support NSCBC through a gift in your will or estate plan. This thoughtful act of generosity allows you to make a lasting impact, ensuring that future generations will continue to encounter God, grow in faith, and serve others through the work of our church.
Ways to Give a Legacy Gift
There are several ways to leave a legacy gift to NSCBC:
Gift in Your Will: You can include NSCBC in your will by leaving a specific amount of money, a percentage of your estate, or a particular asset. This can be used wherever the church needs it most, or you can direct it toward a specific area like missions, youth ministry, or building projects.
Naming NSCBC as a Beneficiary: You can list NSCBC as the beneficiary of your retirement account, life insurance policy, or financial account. This means that after your lifetime, the church will receive the money or asset.
Gifts that Provide Income: You can make a gift to NSCBC while still receiving income from it during your lifetime, or for a loved one. Afterward, the remaining amount will go to the church. This is known as a charitable remainder trust.
Recommending a Gift from Your Giving Account: If you have a special account for charitable donations (like a donor-advised fund), you can recommend NSCBC as a recipient of a gift either now or as part of your estate.
Legacy gifts are a beautiful way to live out your faith and values, while ensuring NSCBC’s future impact. Your thoughtful planning today means that NSCBC can continue sharing Christ’s love and growing in community for years to come.
