Our Leadership

Get To Know Us

At NSCBC, we’re convinced that everything about us—from our leadership, to our mission, to how we worship—says something about what we believe. This page will help you begin to get to know us and we hope you’ll join us on a Sunday morning so that we can get to know you as well! Our leadership model is a congregation-affirmed, pastor-led, elder-governed, deacon-served, policy-based framework.

Bobby Warrenburg

Senior Pastor

Bobby is excited to lead a church that is committed to making disciples, reaching the lost, and living on mission together. Bobby is originally from Austin, TX, and received his Bachelor of Business Administration and Master’s in Professional Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin. After spending some time working in business, he felt a call to ministry and went to China with his wife, Julie, for three years as a church planter. Bobby then came to New England to study at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, where he received his Master of Divinity degree. He has most recently served for eight years at a church in Southwest London as the Associate Pastor and then Senior Pastor. Bobby and Julie have four children: William, Grace, Annie, and Lucy. Bobby enjoys cycling, reading, Netflix, meals with friends, and (don’t tell anyone) bird-watching.

Richard Wallace

Associate Pastor

Richard came to New England from the other side of the Atlantic, growing up in Ballymena, Northern Ireland, before moving to Cambridge, England for university and a subsequent career as a Software Engineer. After working on staff for two churches in Northern Ireland, Richard came to America to study for a Masters of Divinity at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Richard loves the North Shore and the people here and is passionate to see as many people as possible across Essex County hearing, understanding, and being changed by the gospel of Jesus. He and his wife, Tess, have been members of NSCBC since 2016 and together with their sons Finn and Caelan live in Beverly Farms near the church. They love to spend as much time as possible outdoors on the North Shore, and are very fond of all the local seafood. Richard particularly enjoys the sport of rugby, but is yet to find a sport that he doesn’t enjoy (Go Red Sox!)

Carl Kraines

Office Manager

Carl, originally from Rhode Island, grew up as a missionary kid in southwest Germany, an experience that stirred his heart for the global Church. After graduating high school in 2014, Carl moved back to the U.S. to attend Gordon College. He studied Theatre and Communications, deepening his love of story, community, and creative expression. With a background in marketing and communications, he brings a deep appreciation for hospitality and behind-the-scenes support to NSCBC. He’s grateful for the opportunity to support the day-to-day life of the church and help create a welcoming space for everyone who walks through the doors, and is especially glad to be part of a church that values both deep-rooted faith and meaningful connection. Carl lives in Peabody and enjoys travel, film, cooking, and learning about science and history.

Laura Range

Minister of Children and Families

Laura and her husband, Clay, grew up in Texas before moving to the North Shore for grad school for what they assumed would be for “two years”…in 2005, which is also when they started attending NSCBC. Suffice to say, they fell in love with the area, the people, and our church and are now raising their family here. Laura has a Bachelor of Arts, University Scholar, from Baylor University and a Master of Arts in Church History from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. She is passionate about discipleship and Christian formation and wants to come alongside families as they seek to disciple their children (and be discipled in the process!) Laura and Clay have two children: Evan and Callia. Laura enjoys meals with friends, family read-alouds, and unhurried conversations.

Amanda Lemieux

Ministry Associate for Emerging Generations

Amanda grew up on the North Shore and currently lives in Peabody with her husband, Matt, and two sons, Josh and Evan, whom she homeschools. She has a passion for children’s ministry and inclusion within the church community. She desires to see a church that fosters a welcoming, supportive, and accepting environment where all members, especially individuals with disabilities, can participate fully in the life and ministry of the church. She is exploring this passion while finishing up her doctorate of education in Strategic Christian Leadership. Her undergrad was in Social Work, while her Master’s was in Moderate Special Education. She loves running and being out in nature, especially in the fall, as Amanda loves to see God at work within His creation. She enjoys volunteering as a Parent Family Partner with Boston Children’s Cystic Fibrosis Quality Improvement team to represent and support children and families’ voices while learning much in the medical field.

Adam Kurihara

Minister of Worship Arts

Adam loves making music so people can worship Jesus. He grew up in sunny California where he developed an early passion for music from private piano lessons, singing in choirs, playing in a blues band, studying music composition, and serving in worship teams. In college Adam discovered the richness of choral music and liturgical traditions, prompting him to move to the Boston area to study Sacred Music at BU’s School of Theology. He graduated from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary in 2022 and has most recently served as Pastor of Worship and Community Life at Trinitarian Congregational Church in Wayland, MA from 2011-2022. When not making music Adam likes cooking and enjoys biking around the North Shore. He lives with his wife Shauna, an artist and Spiritual Director, in North Beverly.

Julie Funderburk

Youth Minister

Some of Julie’s favorite things are stories and the many ways they can be expressed. She specifically loves noticing how God is at work in our stories and how they reflect his grace and truth. She is originally from Michigan, moved to Colorado after college for several years, and is now learning to embrace the beauty of living near the ocean (though she does miss the mountains). She was a middle and high school teacher before deciding that she wanted to dive deeper into studying how God transforms us, which led her to study Spiritual Formation at Gordon-Conwell. She is passionate about helping young people cultivate a faith that is both deeply rooted in God’s love and bears fruit in tangible acts of compassion within our communities. Julie enjoys hiking with her husband, cooking meals for her friends, and all things related to farms.
