Worship Arts
How can we sing the songs of the Lord while in a foreign land? (Psalm 137:4)
Our Vision for Corporate Worship
Corporate worship is for God and central to the life, discipleship and witness of North Shore Community Baptist Church.
Week by week we gather to retell the Gospel story of the God who: calls us to worship, leads us to confession, renews us with grace, receives our prayers, instructs us in his Word, nourishes us through the Lord’s Table and Baptism, and sends us out with his presence on mission to the world.
We want to be people marked by vibrant, God-honoring, Christ-centered, and Spirit-filled worship, who are transformed by our worship to love one another and live more fully for the kingdom and glory of God.
Worship that is Both/And
We believe that we can use the music of the whole church for the sake of the whole world. Instead of chasing after fads or idolizing traditions, we seek to lead the church in worship that honors the breadth and depth of the church’s worship. We value:
Historic tradition and our present context
Excellence and authenticity
Transcendence and mystery
Comprehensibility and connection
We are blended in our worship style, but not as a political compromise, but a true expression of who we are and the friends we’re seeking to reach.

Worship Team
The worship team leads the congregation in offering our heartfelt praise, adoration, confession, and response to God and what he has done.
We can use the music of the whole church for the sake of the whole world. For that reason, we sing songs written by contemporary writers as well as hymns from centuries past.
Not merely a performing ensemble, our primary aim is to inspire robust singing from the pews. To aid this we posture our band to the side of our worship space to remind us that we are not the main show – Jesus is!
Musicians and singers are encouraged to join our roster for more information.

Choir
The choir at NSCBC is part small-group, part musical ensemble, and a loving and supportive family.
We sing seasonally for Advent, Christmas, Holy Week, and Easter, plus special services throughout the year.
When in season, rehearsals are Thursdays 7-8:30pm
(Typically October-December, January-April).
No audition required, though some singing experience and music reading experience is helpful.
“Be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. SING and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Ephesians 5:18b-20)

Artist's Fellowship
Artists Fellowship is a group of visual artists, writers, storytellers, musicians, songwriters, and other creatives that want to be encouraged to create, and given space to do so within the context of our local church.
We hold seasonal gatherings and retreats for fellowship and connection, and bring artists together to create art for devotionals during different seasons of the church year.

Tech and Media Ministry
Sound, projection, and our livestream don’t happen automatically! It takes a lot of gifted people for our Sunday morning services to sound and look good.
Our sound techs make our band sound amazing. Our livestream and projection techs make sure we can see what we need to see.
