Bobby Warrenburg

Senior Pastor

Bobby is excited to lead a church that is committed to making disciples, reaching the lost, and living on mission together. Bobby is originally from Austin, TX, and received his Bachelor of Business Administration and Master’s in Professional Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin. After spending some time working in business, he felt a call to ministry and went to China with his wife, Julie, for three years as a church planter. Bobby then came to New England to study at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, where he received his Master of Divinity degree. He has most recently served for eight years at a church in Southwest London as the Associate Pastor and then Senior Pastor. Bobby and Julie have four children: William, Grace, Annie, and Lucy. Bobby enjoys cycling, reading, Netflix, meals with friends, and (don’t tell anyone) bird-watching.

Richard Wallace

Associate Pastor

Richard came to New England from the other side of the Atlantic, growing up in Ballymena, Northern Ireland, before moving to Cambridge, England for university and a subsequent career as a Software Engineer. After working on staff for two churches in Northern Ireland, Richard came to America to study for a Masters of Divinity at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Richard loves the North Shore and the people here and is passionate to see as many people as possible across Essex County hearing, understanding, and being changed by the gospel of Jesus. He and his wife, Tess, have been members of NSCBC since 2016 and together with their sons Finn and Caelan live in Beverly Farms near the church. They love to spend as much time as possible outdoors on the North Shore, and are very fond of all the local seafood. Richard particularly enjoys the sport of rugby, but is yet to find a sport that he doesn’t enjoy (Go Red Sox!)

Adam Kurihara

Minister of Worship Arts

Adam loves making music so people can worship Jesus. He grew up in sunny California where he developed an early passion for music from private piano lessons, singing in choirs, playing in a blues band, studying music composition, and serving in worship teams. In college Adam discovered the richness of choral music and liturgical traditions, prompting him to move to the Boston area to study Sacred Music at BU’s School of Theology. He graduated from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary in 2022 and has most recently served as Pastor of Worship and Community Life at Trinitarian Congregational Church in Wayland, MA from 2011-2022. When not making music Adam likes cooking and enjoys biking around the North Shore. He lives with his wife Shauna, an artist and Spiritual Director, in North Beverly. They are both excited to be a part of the NSCBC family!

Julie Funderburk

 Youth Minister

Some of Julie’s favorite things are stories and the many ways they can be expressed. She specifically loves noticing how God is at work in our stories and how they reflect his grace and truth. She is originally from Michigan, moved to Colorado after college for several years, and is now learning to embrace the beauty of living near the ocean (though she does miss the mountains). She was a middle and high school teacher before deciding that she wanted to dive deeper into studying how God transforms us, which led her to study Spiritual Formation at Gordon-Conwell. She is passionate about helping young people cultivate a faith that is both deeply rooted in God’s love and bears fruit in tangible acts of compassion within our communities. Julie enjoys hiking with her husband, cooking meals for her friends, and all things related to farms.

Laura Range

Minister of Children and Families

Laura and her husband, Clay, grew up in Texas before moving to the North Shore for grad school for what they assumed would be for “two years”…in 2005, which is also when they started attending NSCBC. Suffice to say, they fell in love with the area, the people, and our church and are now raising their family here. Laura has a Bachelor of Arts, University Scholar, from Baylor University and a Master of Arts in Church History from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. She is passionate about discipleship and Christian formation and wants to come alongside families as they seek to disciple their children (and be discipled in the process!) Laura and Clay have two children: Evan and Callia. Laura enjoys meals with friends, family read-alouds, and unhurried conversations.

Maddie Hutchison

Office Manager

Maddie grew up in central Texas! She finds herself here on the North Shore as her husband, Danner, is pursuing his M.Div. at Gordon Conwell. With previous experience in ministry administration, Maddie hopes that her time in the office will be a blessing to all who interact with her there. In her free time Maddie enjoys reading, cooking and hosting friends, adventuring around the North Shore, and always loves to be outdoors. Maddie is passionate about administrative work, and loves to turn large vision and goals into tangible and achievable steps. She is excited to see how the Lord will use her at NSCBC!

Bookkeeper and Finance Chair

We are so grateful to have Ruth Feins serving as our Finance Committee Chair. Ruth Feins grew up in Scotland, graduating from the University of Edinburgh with a science degree. Maria Reiss

Assistant Bookkeeper

Maria is from all over the Midwest and set down roots on the North Shore in 2009. She’s been a member of NSCBC since 2009 and has been involved in various ministry aspects of the church. She received her BA in Elementary Education from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL and received her M. Ed as a math specialist from Gordon. She currently teaches middle school math and enjoys using her love of math to benefit the church as Assistant Bookkeeper. In her spare time, Maria enjoys playing volleyball, ultimate frisbee, taking stats for the church softball team, or sitting around a campfire with friends.
