Weddings at NSCBC

Congratulations on your engagement and upcoming wedding! We hope this season of life will be a rich experience as you prepare to join together in Christian marriage.

All couples seeking to be married at NSCBC must complete the Wedding Application. The application can be submitted to the Office Administrator (office@nscbc.org). Applications should be submitted at least five months prior to the requested date. Additionally, couples must meet with one of NSCBC’s pastors for an interview, before the application will be approved. After your application has been approved and your $150 deposit has been received, your date will be placed on the church calendar. Please note that your date is not secure until you have heard from the Office Administrator or Wedding Coordinator.

What decorations do you have?

We have a simple wood arbor that works well as a backdrop for the ceremony. Couples can use this at no extra charge. See pictures above.

A 20′ runner in the center aisle. If you would like to bring your own runner you may arrange that with the office. Please do not throw flower petals or anything else that will stain the carpet down the center aisle.

We have white pedestals for floral arrangements a large table for communion, and small ornate wooden tables for serving communion stations and a simple iron cross.

The backdrop is a velvet red curtain with a gold cross. We cannot modify this, but you are welcome to arrange a different backdrop to hang yourself.

Musicians from our community often play in weddings for a fee. If you would like help recruiting a music team for your wedding, please reach out to Adam

If you would like a friend or family member lead music, please include that info on your application. You are also welcome to hire your own wedding musicians.

Since a wedding is at its core a service of Christian worship, songs sung should be hymns or modern worship songs, and must be approved prior to the ceremony.

The church has a digital organ, an acoustic grand piano, and a drum kit.

All weddings require at least one hired audio technician approved by NSCBC to use our equipment. If you would like to livestream or project any lyrics or images, a second tech person is required.

Funerals and Memorial Services

NSCBC holds space and provides resources as we process our grief and give praise to God even in our mourning.

A funeral service is held soon after death, and often involves a casket. It is a service of Christian worship, including songs, scripture readings, prayers, and a sermon. This service looks forward to eternal life rather than backward toward past events. It does not primarily focus on the achievements or failures of the deceased; rather, it calls us to proclaim the Good News of Jesus and his triumph over death, even as we celebrate the life and witness of the deceased.

memorial service is held weeks or months after a death. With songs, scripture and prayers, emphasis is on the life of the deceased and for the community to give expression to their grief, gratitude, and remembrance of their earthly life.

I am the resurrection and the life, says the Lord.
Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.

John 11:25-26

No. While priority is given to NSCBC ministries and events, we welcome outside organizations or people to use our space.

We especially like supporting other churches within the North Shore Gospel Partnership, but are also able to host events for community groups and non-religous groups.

Check our church calendar here.

If you have a potential date, please reach out to us to confirm availability.

Rental rates are determined after an application is submitted. We strive to offer fair rates while also paying our utility, insurance, and maintenance costs.

For events in Beverly Farms, you can also explore Hastings House, a community space for public rental.
