Foster Care

A Safe and Supported Family for All

NSCBC partners with Fostering Hope, a local non-profit ministry, to support children and families impacted by foster care, including biological families, children in foster care, and foster and adoptive families.

Through relationships, events, drives, and care communities for bio, foster, and kinship families, we seek to create a culture that ensures that families impacted by foster care experience hope and healing.

Tens for Teens – Gift Card Drive for Teens in Foster Care

This time of year, there seems to be a toy drive everywhere you look. While many of these toy drives benefit kids in foster care or DCF-involved families, teens are a different story. Mike Brown at fostering hope reports that all local DCF agencies are asking for Christmas gifts for teens. Particularly helpful are gift cards to brick-and-mortar stores like Walmart and Target – places where they can buy what they need most, including food, toiletries, clothes, and shoes. NSCBC is responding by holding a ‘tens for teens‘ drive, collecting $10 gift cards to Target and Walmart. Gift cards and/or donations of cash or checks will be collected outside of the sanctuary now through Sunday, December 15th.

When: Thursday, Dec. 5 | 7 – 8:30 pm

Where: Virtual

With nearly 20,000 youth living in foster care in New England and 100,000 waiting to be adopted nation-wide, faith compels the Christian community to meet the need for more safe and supported homes by extending hospitality to children and families in our community. If you’ve thought about becoming a foster or adoptive parent, now’s the time to take the next step!

At this virtual info session hosted by Fostering Hope, you’ll hear from DCF specialists as well as current adoptive and foster families. This is a no-obligation opportunity to learn and ask questions!
