Our Devotionals

During certain seasons of the church year we invite artists and writers to reflect on scripture drawing us deeper into the season. Here are a few recent devotionals we’ve produced as a community.

Advent 2025

Our theme this year, In the Fullness of Time, is an invitation to reflect on how Jesus entered human history at a particular time and place. The result is a Jesse Tree of sorts—a centuries old illustration that shows how God’s story has been written through particular people and comes to its fulfillment in Jesus.

Advent 2024

This children’s devotional was designed as a kid-friendly companion to the 2024 NSCBC Advent Devotional. Each O Antiphon has been paraphrased with more accessible language for children. Each page is actually a coloring page featuring a large icon symbolic of that particular name for Jesus. Children are encouraged to color and explore!

Advent 2024

This year, our artists’ contributions are organized around a set of seven prayers called the O Antiphons, which are anthems sung responsively that have been used in the season of Advent for thirteen-hundred years. Rich with biblical language and themes, they cry out, ‘Come!’
